Boy Carrying Jug

Saw it as we were driving by a garage sale on the Queesway. It’s the biggest garage sale weekend of the summer and I always keep my eyes open anyway but this weekend more than ever. I’m not a hoarder. I look at it as more of a treasure hunt. You spend a lifetime remembering things and you have no idea when what you remember meets up with what you are experiencing.
I hope that makes sense.
This picture showed up every day of my life for a period of time when I was younger and I remember that. I don’t remember the place, the date or the time. I know it’s family and my heart tells me it’s my father’s side, but I’m not sure. I think it’s from my paternal grandmother’s house, but I can’t be sure. It’s both a pleasure and disconcerting to look at the picture.
And that’s why I like it.
We’re going to Lowe’s today, for yard stuff we want to get done this weekend. But while I’m there, I’m buying the hangers so I can put this across from me on my office wall on Tuesday when I get back to work.
